    Being a value-led organisation is important to us because, by embodying our values of being ethical and accountable, we support businesses that are using digital transformation to bring about significant social change.     The same research found that ‘mission-driven’ companies tend to have 40% higher retention rates as well. When employees feel like the work they’re doing has a positive impact, they’re more likely to want to stay at a company and continue doing work that benefits others. 

    Employees that work at a value-led company often choose to work there because these values align with their own and they feel personally connected to the work that they’re doing. This culture alignment is another massive benefit for businesses, with 30% higher enterprise growth and 17% higher profit growth for companies with a workforce that support their employer’s values. 

    Purpose-driven organisations also see higher market share gains and higher customer satisfaction rates than their competitors, creating more profits and retaining customers for longer. 

    Value-led organisations with positive workplace cultures are also generally better places to work when it comes to employee engagement and satisfaction. 66% of employees that believe their workplace culture is positive also believe that this positively impacts their work every day. So when you let doing good guide your business, you get a happy workplace atmosphere in return. 

    If you have a strong set of values that drive the work you do, you’re likely to be hiring with these in mind, searching for employees that share your commitment to your mission and that will be motivated to help you achieve it. This will help you to hire more successfully, as many candidates in today’s job market are focused on finding places to work where they feel like they ‘fit’ the company culture. 46% of candidates said that they wouldn’t apply for a role in a company that they felt they wouldn’t ‘fit’ the culture of, demonstrating how recruitment with values in mind can really improve the quality of candidates that apply for your roles

    Our three core values are ‘Accountable’, ‘Ethical’ and ‘Working Together’. We’re led by these values through working with businesses and industry individuals that share our ethos and know that we achieve more when we collaborate and connect across the Tech for Good sector and utilise the power of the cloud and the digital infrastructure.

    Our Goal To Be B-Corp and Give Back

    Inspire People is currently on a journey towards becoming B-Corp certified. This certification is only given to businesses which demonstrate high social and environmental performance, make a legal commitment to being accountable to all stakeholders, and are transparent about their performance as an organisation in upholding high standards of social and environmental support with their work.

    We feel that our values and goals make us an ideal candidate for this certification, and are currently in the process of completing the B Impact Assessment to assess our suitability. By becoming B-Corp certified, Inspire People will further our commitment to ‘be the change we seek in the world’ in line with the mission of the B-Corp movement.

    As described above, we only work with clients who are Tech for Good and who we believe will help bring about the social change that we feel will benefit our community at this moment in time. We prioritise clients and partnerships where we feel our values align and we know that the support of our services is going to make a positive difference.

    Inspire People is also committed to diverse hiring, both internally and as part of the Talent services that we offer our clients. We always ensure that we select candidates that represent a range of backgrounds and identities and make a conscious effort to include a high percentage of candidates from minority or disadvantaged backgrounds, helping our clients diversify their workforces and reap the benefits of this.

    Along with the work we do to facilitate technological growth and progress, we also regularly donate to local charities to ensure that our work is also making a difference close to home. Most recently, we supported an organisation that gives aspiring special needs artists a space to create and sell their work, purchasing a new piece of art for our office.

    We also have an environmental policy that helps us to minimise the impact our business has on the planet and its resources. Our approach to reducing our emissions and carbon footprint includes minimal use of natural resources, continual monitoring and improvement of our environmental performance, and the use of greener transport options, office supplies and cleaning products.

    Who We Work With

    Genomics England

    A fantastic example of our work with a similarly value-led organisation Genomics England, which sequences genomes from NHS Patients with rare diseases or cancer and stores all of this data across physical data centres and the public cloud. This genomic technology aims to improve the overall health of the population by speeding up diagnosis and identifying more effective treatments.

    Our work with Genomics England involved supporting a rapid increase in the speed and volume of data the organisation was processing and storing, requiring the IT team to expand with new DevOps teams, Platform Engineers and Architects. Our talent services helped to develop a culture-led recruitment strategy that was more efficient and led to successful contract and permanent hires.

    Lifebit

    Another example of the kind of organisation we work with is Lifebit, a company that creates technological methods of accessing, analysing and manipulating biomedical data. This allows researchers to utilise this sensitive data without running into any security issues and also gives Biomedical Data Custodians a way to make their findings findable and usable.

    Our work with Lifebit involved a range of our talent services, focusing on inbound and outbound candidate attraction and providing several VIP services to improve their screening and interview process, including creating job brochures and designing competency based scorecards. We also worked with them on establishing a desirable Employer Value Proposition to improve their image as a company and increase candidate attraction, including producing an EVP video and Job Brochure. 

    The feedback generated by this work was very positive, with candidates commenting on the clear sense of company culture and 53% of unsuccessful candidates saying that they would recommend Lifebit to a friend or colleague. 92% of the job offers made were accepted, and it was also reported that the company’s onboarding process improved significantly.
